Dolphins at Daybreak: Ouch!

  • And now they’re back at the reef.
  • So Jack and Annie were accidentally racing each other when they were still swimming on their own because they wanted to get back to the reef and not get caught by the shark.
  • OK, so Jack’s backpack was not waterproof at all.
  • And the riddle answer is an oyster with a pearl in it.

Dolphins at Daybreak: Remain Calm

  • And they barely made it to the surface again, but the sub is leaking faster now.
  • The sub just died completely and the shark is still out there. Their swim lessons they had before going to the ice age would help, especially since they’re so close to the reef.
  • OK, something I’m wondering now: how waterproof is Jack’s backpack?

Dolphins at Daybreak: C-R-A-C-K

  • Oh, great. The octopus just wants to figure out what the sub is, but its squeezing is making the cracks in the sub worse…
  • Yep. Now it’s getting bad enough to leak…
  • So the octopus let them go… but only because it got scared off.
  • So not only is the sub leaking, but now a hammerhead shark just showed up.

Dolphins at Daybreak: Two Eyes

  • OK, so, the first entry in the log was a week earlier, on July 5th.
  • Apparently, this was a research sub.
  • And it was supposed to be sent to a scrapyard because the hull got cracked. Lovely.
  • OK, how long do Jack and Annie have before the sub starts leaking?
  • Now they’re going back to the surface of the water, and they’re about to be chased by an octopus.

Dolphins at Daybreak: Fish City

  • So, yeah, there’s fish everywhere. And they all live in the reef.
  • And there’s a stingray and a giant clam.
  • OK, yeah, I was wondering when the dolphins would show up.
  • No, but the mental image of Jack and Annie feeling like they’re in a reverse fish tank is great.
  • So Annie just named the dolphins Sukie and Sam.
  • No, Annie, the dolphins aren’t the answer to the riddle.
  • And Jack’s over here already forgetting the treehouse’s rule of “you can’t go home until you find the right thing for Morgan.”
  • And now they’re looking for clues in the ship’s log.

Dolphins at Daybreak: Mini-Sub

  • Jack. Seriously. Stop getting mad at Annie every time she finds a way to get to wherever your Important Thing for Morgan is.
  • The good thing is that there’s a pin on-screen map of the area. Because ‘90s GPS things.
  • “Oh, cool, this is like a video game! I’m gonna drive the sub!” Annie’s over here pretending she’s playing Mario Kart.
  • “Now we can steer back to the reef!” “No, wait! It’s so pretty down here! And Morgan’s riddle!”

Dolphins at Daybreak: The Reef

  • OK, I think I can guess the riddle, but I’ll just let the story progress and not say anything…
  • So, apparently Jack and Annie landed on a coral reef.
  • And now they’ve found a mini submarine. OK, when is Jack gonna listen to Annie about finding things like that are conveniently there for them to actually use for their missions?
  • “Whoops… I accidentally pushed a button, and now we’re going somewhere with the mini sub on autopilot…”

Dolphins at Daybreak: Master Librarians

  • OK, so we’re going straight to the first chapter, and the prologues were only for the “getting Peanut to be Morgan again” subplot.
  • Apparently Jack is awake at dawn because he got a dream message from Morgan about the treehouse being back.
  • And it looks like Annie got the dream, too.
  • So, like… Jack can believe a treehouse can time travel and that Morgan le Fay is real, but doesn’t believe that dream message are a thing.
  • So now they’re like “bye, mom and dad, we’re going on a walk.” Also, wait, is this the first time we get to see the dad? Because I kinda remember a while back, the mom called Jack and Annie for dinner at the end of one of the others.
  • Oh, the foreshadowing with the dad telling them not to get their shoes wet from the rain puddles from the night before…
  • So yeah, Morgan totally did send the dream messages.
  • Apparently Morgan’s been too busy sorting out Merlin’s pranks to get more books for the Camelot library.
  • Annie’s over here like “we’ll do it,” and Morgan’s like “lemme set up a Master Librarian test for you to have the clearance to be my official assistants.”
  • Oh, OK, looks like we have another four-book arc again? This time with the Master Librarian riddle tests?
  • And now they’re going to the ocean.
